📊 Mastering Standard Dashboards in AngularView
Turn Complex Data into Clarity and Confidence
👋 Introduction: Why Dashboards Matter
Running an online store is a constant juggling act — tracking sales, managing discounts, monitoring customer behavior, and staying on top of changing trends. But with data scattered across platforms and reports, getting a clear picture of performance can feel overwhelming.
That’s where AngularView’s dashboards come in.
They’re not just another report. They’re your daily business compass — helping you spot trends, identify issues before they snowball, and make smarter decisions with confidence. Whether you’re diving into last year’s growth or figuring out why sales dipped this quarter, these dashboards surface the “why” behind the “what”.
🧩 Key Components of an AngularView Dashboard
All dashboards in AngularView follow a consistent structure, so once you’re comfortable with one, you’ll feel at home in any of them.
1. Multi-Layered Time Analysis
Rather than showing static figures, AngularView breaks your data into multiple time layers:
-
Primary Layer: e.g., Last 3 Years
-
Secondary Breakdowns: e.g., YOY, YTD, MTD
💡 This means you’re not just seeing what’s happening — you’re seeing what’s changing, what’s improving, and what’s lagging.
2. Multiple Metrics in One View
Each dashboard can show multiple business-critical KPIs stacked neatly together — like SKU Count, Subtotal, Net Payment, Discounts, Quantity, and Refunds.
Each metric is compared across the selected time range and time breakdowns. This results in 9 values per metric by default (3 years × 3 breakdowns), all visible in one row.
🧠 Making It Your Own: Customization Power
📌 Dimensions Panel (Right Side)
Want to break things down by channel, product type, region, risk level, or currency?
Just drag in the dimensions you care about. Add one, two, or even more. You can even reorder them to view your data from different angles.
Example: See “Refunded Orders” broken down by both Shipping Country and Channel side-by-side.
Choose from over 100 ready-to-use dimensions, organized in intuitive categories like:
-
Customer Info
-
Order Info
-
Product Info
-
Financial Data
-
Risk & Fulfillment
⚙️ Toolbox Panel (Right Side)
This is your personal control center, where you can:
-
Show/hide metrics or dimensions
-
Switch between shop and customer currency
-
Set your preferred time zone
-
Save your preferred dashboard state (it persists!)
⏳ Time Range & Time Depth Panel
Choose how far back to look:
-
Last 3 Years
-
Last 2 Quarters
-
Last 6 Months
-
Last 4 Weeks
And more…
Then drill into the period using the Time Depth row — you can dynamically toggle between granular (Current Year only) or broader (Last 3 Years) views.
🔄 Time Breakdown Panel
Once you’ve picked a time range, you can break it down even further:
-
Year-on-Year
-
Year-to-Date
-
Month-on-Month
-
Quarter-to-Date
-
Or even fully custom slices like “Holiday Period” or “Promotions Only”
💱 Multi-Currency Mode
If you operate globally, AngularView has your back.
Switch between:
-
Shop Currency: your store’s base currency
-
Customer Currency: what your customers actually paid
To compare currencies in a meaningful way:
-
Set the currency mode in the Manage panel
-
Add the “Currency Code” dimension to break down results
🌐 Multi Time-Zone Support
Timezones can skew data, especially when you’re comparing locations.
AngularView lets you select the time zone that matters to you, and refreshes the dashboard instantly — ensuring your numbers are always in context.
🔢 Data Panel: Where It All Comes Together
This is where raw data turns into real insight.
Every unique combination of:
-
Time slice (e.g., 2023 YTD)
-
Dimensions (e.g., by Sub Channel + Risk Level)
-
Metrics (e.g., Sales, Quantity, Refunds)
… is rendered into an intuitive grid for direct comparison.
💥 Smart Sorting: Want to find your top-selling products in 2022 Q2?
Just right-click the breakdown header, select your metric (e.g., Sales), and AngularView sorts everything for you — while keeping all your other metrics in view.
🔁 Seamless Switching Between Time Grains
Need a broader or more granular view?
Use the top-right Grain Selector to instantly switch between:
-
Yearly
-
Quarterly
-
Monthly
-
Weekly
🧭 This makes it incredibly easy to zoom out for strategy or zoom in for action.
